Local Agencies

Information about agencies in Cambridge.

  • Anglian Water Trust Fund - Gives grants to support customers who cannot afford to pay their water bill.
  • Citizens Advice Bureau - Citizens Advice Bureau advice website. Provides advice on a wide range of issues. Located on Newmarket Road in Cambridge.
  • Housing Support Service - Housing Support Service provided by Cambridge City Council.

  • Benefits Adviser - Run by the Government, this tool gives advice and entitlement information to 28 DWP benefits.
  • British Bankers' Association - Provides information on how banks can help deal with debt.
  • Business Debtline - MAC cannot help with business debts, but Business Debtline, run by the Money Advice Trust can help those who are self-employed or have small businesses. They also have an advice line: 0900 197 6026.
  • Child Poverty Action Group - Information on benefits and welfare rights.
  • Community Legal Aid - Formerly Community Legal Services Direct, this website provides lots of useful information and allows you to search for a low-cost legal adviser near you.
  • Community Money Advice - This is the organisation through which MAC was set-up and has a useful self-help pack to download.
  • Court Service - Court services website - Court forms to fill in online or print off and self-help sheets for filling them out.
  • Credit Action - This page allows you to create your own Financial Statement.
  • Entitled To - Free, quick and easy online service so you can work out your entitlement to benefits and tax credits.
  • Money Made Clear - Run by the Financial Services Authority (FSA), this website provides lots of useful facts about banking, insurance, mortgages and lots more.
  • Money Stuff - Run by Credit Action - this site provides lots of information on how to manage your money.
  • One Space - the "One Space money survival kit", a guide to help single parents make the most of their income and spending.
  • Payplan - Allows you to set up financial statement, and find out more about the Paylink service.
